November 6th is rapidly approaching, and it is a critical time to ensure that you are going to the polls with a knowledgeable vote. Though we may not all agree on which party to support, one thing that is important is to make sure you are casting a vote for individuals who will represent you and your schools well. The following link may be helpful in providing the knowledge to your school family. This link allows you to insert your address so that you won’t have to wade through the entire state to determine who are your assemblymen and senators.
The students in your school have available to them several benefits, (textbooks, transportation, nursing services, technology, security...) provided by their tax-paying parents, in part because of the advocacy of various individuals over the years to our representatives in New Jersey state government. Beginning in late winter the state budget is forged for the coming school year, and May and June are the months of the year to connect often and vocally with your representatives. Visit the ACSI Legislative Action Center to send a message to your legislators now to let them know where you stand on important issues.
The top two priority issues right last year were Nonpublic School Transportation and Nonpublic School Security Funding. For more information on these issues, talking points to use to discuss these issues with legislators and others, and more, please view this email that was recently sent out by ACSINJ.
We encourage you to connect with your legislators and let them know how you feel about the current issues. Let them know how important those issues are to you by trying to set up a face to face meeting or a phone meeting with them or one of their staff members. If you would like to do that, but are unsure how to go about doing that, we have set up some basic steps with ideas of what to say. Click here to view those steps. If you have any questions please reach out to us at ACSINJLeaders@champion.org.
We encourage you to use this prayer card; fill in the blanks with your elected officials and please pray regularly for each one of them by name. Click here to download the prayer card or to share it with others.
